Thursday we woke up early and carpooled to Charleston, where Sister Bingham would leave for Ashland, Kentucky and I would meet my new companion. With anxious anticipation, I sat through the training meeting. Finally, President Lindhardt announced that I would be training Sister Harris!!! That was the first miracle. The moment I wrapped my arms around her, I knew she would be the one to change me. Sister Harris is from Logan, Utah. She is way beautiful, outside and in. She went to work immediately, talking to everyone she saw. Sister Harris is fearless!
One thing I learned about Sister Harris, is that she has crazy amazing faith. I wish I thought of it first, haha, but my new companion said she had the thought to pray for more meal appointments. I was all up for it, but I don't think my heart was in it. Anyways, we got a call on Friday from a member, offering to feed us on Saturday. Then on Sunday, the bishop's wife tells us she insists on feeding us dinner! Who's training who, might I ask?
I love getting mail, and what should this week bring but THREE LETTERS FROM MY DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! Shout out to the best, most dedicated, most inspiring father in the galaxy
Today we hiked the Cascades with four other sisters and the zone leaders. I must say, I miss Silver Falls, but I do love the lush greenery here in Virginia. We plan on going grocery shopping and doing some much needed laundry, haha. This week, although very amazing, has also been pretty stressful, so having a few hours off on preparation day is nice :)
I've studied a lot in Doctrine and Covenants lately. If any y'all need a pick-me-up, D&C 123:17. Also, I highly recommend Mormon Channel Studio for some good tuneage. Yup. That's about it for this week. Not much on which to report. Oh, I also gave a talk in sacrament meeting in the family ward yesterday. I wrote it a few days in advance, but when I got up to speak I ditched the paper and just used the scriptures and went on from there. Thank you, Mom, for all those public speaking tips. Whether it is on stage or behind the pulpit, I've really grown. Thank you, every one for your love and support and prayers. I can feel them all around me :)
Don't have too much fun without me :)
