Hokies and Hogwarts; 2017.June.26

First of all.
SISTER ORDAÑEZ WAS BAPTIZED THIS WEEK!!! Although I was not there for the actual ordinance, I was there for the many months spent helping her develop her faith and strengthen her testimony. I have really grown to love her and her amazing family. Soon Sister Ordanez and her husband Brother Ordanez will both go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, and in a year, they will both be sealed as a family!!!!!! All of the happiness!

This week has been a good one. Last Monday Sister Bingham and I got caught in a rain storm, and got drenched! Personally I loved it, but no one else identify as fish. Oh well. I started my sugar fast! I've decided to lessen my sugar intake, limiting myself to only one hot chocolate a week, and minimal refined sugar intake. Please pray for me, I am facing major temptation.

Tuesday we had Zone Conference and said goodbye to President and Sister Salisbury. I was spiritually fed, but also super sad, as the Salisbury's leave this week. But we welcome the Lindhardts!!!!! Can't wait to meet them!

Thursday we ate dinner with the Hirsh family. Sister Hirsh is the service coordinator in the ward, and Brother Hirsh is actually a non-member- he is Jewish. He's way funny and super spiritual. Totally pulled a prank on us- he has some fake feces that he planted next to our shoes. I asked him if he could secure some phony poop for me too. He said he will see what he can do. Gosh I love that family :)
Friday was saddles sore day. As I mentioned last week, we bike. A lot. In skirts. It gets breezy! Anyways, we found a connecting trail to the opposite ends of town. We knew the trail existed, but we weren't quite sure how. Guess who spend an hour getting lost? That's right! The Sister Missionaries. Biking up and down hills + HUMID HEAT OF VIRGINIA + absence of sugar in my blood= a very tired Sister Peacock. Needless to say, after biking an accumulation of 10+ miles, when we got home I pounded a double serving of hot chocolate. A new commandment I give unto y'all; Thou shalt not bike without snacks. THOU SHALT NOT BIKE IN A SKIRT UNLESS THE LORD THY GOD COMMANDS IT TO BE UNTO THEE. The entire town and campus is now familiar with my undergarments. I think I need to invest in some light weight biking shorts. Or maybe a weighted skirt. Or both....

I woke up Saturday morning shaky and sore, so instead of working out like we a re supposed to, I slept for another half hour and showered. Then we went to the Duck Pond at VT and watched a turtle whom we affectionately named Felix. I gave a Book of Mormon to a man we see all the time on the Bus. He's gonna get baptized some day I just know it! Blacksburg held their annual Beer Festival, so we steered clear. Sadly it seemed everyone was at the festival. Looks like we need to teach a Word of Wisdom class... Sister Bingham ended the night with a bang, walking through our screen door that leads to the porch. We laughed our faces off. But it doesn't end there, no, it gets better. While reporting our numbers to the district leaders last night I walked through the screen door. Almost cried we were laughing so gosh darn hard :) Good times.

I've decided to focus my studies more on the Savior, and His life and teachings in Jerusalem and among the Nephites. My brother David, who is currently serving in Japan, has begun a reading of Jesus the Christ, a 1000+ page book about the Savior. I got halfway through that book myself my senior year, but I've decided to finish it. Or rather, read it backwards, starting with the last chapter. I'm weird that way :)
I want to be more like the Son of God, but more importantly, I want to understand Him and become as He is through that understanding. They say curiosity killed the cat. Well, this is the kind of search for knowledge that is gonna give me the wings to fly.

I love y'all. Don't sweat the small stuff. Literally :)
