Just to let you know, as I write this I am listening to the MoTab Pioneer day celebration with Alex Boye... HE SINGS ONE OF THE MOANA SONGS!!!!!! AH!
So, I have some news. I'm pregnant.
Haha! Gotcha!! But, I am training, so I'm mission pregnant! Mission life is so weird. Anyways, I got a call on Sunday from President Lindhardt. He asked me how I felt my mission was going. I told him I've grown a lot, but have even more to learn. He told me I will be training one of the new sisters who just came from the MTC!!! I meet her tomorrow. I'm like, way nervous, but so excited to teacher to love being a missionary in the West Virginia Charleston Mission! She's gonna love Blacksburg Virginia.
Last week was amazing! Saw so many miracles, I think I'm going blind because our future is so bright here, hahahahahahahaha! Tuesday was my "click day", I hit six months!!! I made it this far, gotta do it two more times.
Friday was... miraculous, because there is not a better word. The Sister Training Leaders came to our area for an exchange. I was with Sister Allen, who is a well seasoned missionary from Arizona. She helped me to see the balance between humility and confidence. We started off every doorstep approach with casual conversation that, of course, eventually led to the gospel. We spoke to this young college student, and he had a lot of faithful LDS friends from high school who served missions. He was really interested in the Book of Mormon. He even asked if he could "take lessons, if that's okay?" OF COURSE IT'S OKAY!!! We got his phone number and set up an appointment for Monday right away. It was too good to be true. But- the Lord knew. Monday rolled around, we sent a text to Topher to remind him of his appointment, and we went to the lesson. He was so excited to have us there to teach him! I was like, "Whaaa? You're actually wanting to listen to this?" He even made us food! How's that for an elect soul ready to receive the gospel, huh? He had all the right questions and we know he felt the Spirit. We committed him to read the introduction to the Book of Mormon, and the member who came with us invited him to church :) All of the happiness.
More highlights of this week;
Although I have not yet eaten squirrel, I ate fried turtle on Monday. Cobbler social on Sunday-yum! I am eating tomatoes regularly now to be polite. I ate a couple cherries yesterday. Ate some blueberries at a members house :) Spontaniously cleaned up the duck pond on campus and lots of people thanked us. Sister Bingham is being transferred :( to Ashland, Kentucky. Man, I love her so much. We've really bonded through our trials and we are so close in a way I've never been with a friend before. She's awesome
I've never felt more happy that I have here on my mission, serving the Lord and serving others. Yes, I can say I've felt true joy. My decision to serve a mission has been the best decision of my life so far :)
